Cycle and Stop Jigging Motion
The Iceman is designed with a patented jigging motion used to
attract fish. This cycle and stop motion is required to initiate fish bite activity. When the line is jigging, the bait remains in constant movement, making the bait appear even more live. But when the line stops moving, it gives a fish a chance to approach the bait. When a fish is on the bait, the line stops moving, giving you time to set the hook.
Four Jigging Speeds
A rotary switch is incorporated into the Iceman circuitry and
controls the jigging speeds. There are five positions; one
fast, two medium speeds, one slow speed, and an off position when no motion is desired. You can adjust the speed at any time during operation.
Note: The alarm features can still be used when no jigging
motion is desired.
Reliable Field of Vision
While the Iceman is jigging, the bait remains within an approaching fish's field of vision. Unlike jigging by hand, the Iceman does not move the bait out of sight for the fish. This is important because fish are less likely to find the bait again due to their slower movements in freezing water. The range that the bait movement is consistant regardless of the size of the bait or the depth of the water.
Adjustible Line Sensitivity
The Iceman's sensitivity is can be adjusted to accomodate a range of bait sizes, the activity of the bait, and current drag. It is also adjustible to detect the slightest nibbles, to the hardest bites. This is controlled by the bite sensitivity knob, which you turn to increase or decrease sensitivity. Once the sensitivity is set for your lure it does not have to be readjusted.
Alarm System
Depending on your preferred sensitivity, fish activity on the line is indicated by a bright LED light and an adjustable sound alarm. The alarm can be toggled on or off. When the alarm is on, it can be either at quiet or loud volume settings. The quiet setting is great when you do not want to alert other nearby fishermen to fish activity at your hole. The loud setting could possibly be used when you are far from the pole and a fish is at the bait. The LED light lights up regardless of the alarm being on or off. The alarm system does not require resetting after each signal because it automatically resets each time.
Operates Silently
When in use, the Iceman creates very little mechanical noise. In fact, the only real sound that you will hear from the Iceman is the alarm when you have fish activity on your line.
Durable Construction
The Iceman is built to handle the harsh winter environment. All of the circuitry is sealed within the unit, and any exposed components are water-resistant. For increased protection when transporting the Iceman, a carrying case is available for purchase.
